Bedford has a diversity of housing opportunities. Single family homes range from restored 1700’s farm houses, to ranch style 1950’s homes, to modern million dollar colonials. Condominium style housing is scattered throughout the town, including one development on a working horse farm and a new 75-unit townhouse development that is under construction. Residential rental stock has increased greatly in the recent past, with several attractive apartment home complexes available to choose from, such as the Village at Taylor Pond on Middlesex Turnpike surrounded by Bedford’s largest industrial/office area. Some areas of Town include two family homes available for rent, and the Middlesex Turnpike area has recently added many apartments in a variety of bedroom configurations. Finally, a town house rental community is expected to be constructed shortly.
Bedford maintains both subsidized housing and affordable housing stock. All of the newer apartment developments include affordable units, available to qualifying individuals through a lottery process. In addition, the Bedford Housing Authority provides family and elderly housing for those of low or very low income.
